Welcome to the SeLFI-Lab

We investigate how students can regulate their own learning – and how teachers can best support them. Our aim is to bridge science and practice: by providing evidence-based insights for researchers and practical resources for the classroom.

Research at the SeLFI-Lab

At the SeLFI-Lab, we explore how learning succeeds – and how schools can help students thrive not only academically but also personally. Our research focuses on three main areas:

  • Self-Regulated Learning (SRL)
  • the question of how teachers can effectively support this process
  • Students’ Mental Health

Practise

Teachers play a key role in promoting self-regulated learning. The SeLFI Lab supports them with a wide range of proven strategies and practical materials that can be used directly in the classroom.

SeReNe

The SeReNe (Self-Regulation Network) network, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), connects leading researchers in the field of self-regulation worldwide. This network pools expertise, initiates joint research projects, and develops practical materials that benefit teachers and schools.
